Why aspect ratio matters for printing
Every print size has a fixed aspect ratio. A 4×6 print is 3:2; an 8×10 print is 4:5; an A4 sheet is about 1:1.414. If your image's ratio doesn't match the print's ratio, fitting it without stretching means losing part of the image — usually a crop.
